Michelle has truly found her calling. She is professional, kind and compassionate. She is also very committed to her clients. She may take a few notes here and there, but I’m am always surprised at what she remembers from our last meeting when I’ve noticed she hasn’t written anything down. Michelle is extremely knowledgable in dealing with patients (and caretakers of those) who are chronically ill. I have found that her expertise goes beyond that. She has helped me with grief and the loss of my child. She also works with children. She is affordable and does accept (some) insurance. Her office is comfortable and located in Greenwood Village, just off the highway. She reminds you of your appointment via text, which was helpful in the beginning, but now I look forward to our set appointments! No reminder needed. She is always on time and gentle in her reminder when it’s time to “wrap things up”. I encourage anyone reading this to explore meeting with Michelle. It appears to me that her main goal is to make sure that SHE is the right fit for her client. I find this to be an incredibly endearing quality. It truly shows the client where her interests are- helping the client. She has many referrals if this isn’t the case.
A very special shout out to Michelle Chrastil for getting me back on track. So grateful God put you in my life ?” – Jennifer
She’s incredible with Chronic illnesses, PTSD, family, and marriage therapy. She’s very flexible with scheduling and truly cares about helping others. I highly recommend Michelle she offers a safe and secure environment. I have done both group and private sessions and both offer warm welcoming settings with great results. – Asha Jo
I’ve been in therapy on and off for the past 25 years, and never really felt it was helping…until I met Michelle. For the 1st time, I felt validated and was able to recognize my strengths and get help with the challenges I was facing. I’ve since moved out of the area, but Michelle is still available to me for phone sessions. I can’t say enough about her, she’s just awesome! – Jennifer
I started going to Michelle’s women’s support group to get help living independently with several chronic illnesses. I automatically felt a warm welcome by Michelle and the other women. We did have some experiences with women who just didn’t find the fit they were looking for, or the rare case of having unrealistic expectations of what the group should be like. I made amazing progress in that group, but unfortunately am too sick to make all the sessions which didn’t feel fair to the other women. I now see her on a private basis and bring along my husband, we both find her a necessary part of our routine to lead happy healthy lifestyles. Her help is invaluable and we love her compassion, understanding, knowledge, and her ability to to make us feel comfortable to be open and completely ourselves in her office without an ounce of judgement. We highly recommend Michelle and honestly don’t know what we would do without her. – Animallover
My physician gave me an excellent article from a medical journal for
25 things to look for in a therapist. Of those we interviewed, only Michelle Chrastil was 25 for 25 (with the next 4 falling in the 12-15/25 area) – GMaRaisingGKids
I used Michelle’s match making services and couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Michelle really took the time to listen to my needs and wants and was able to guide me to make attainable expectations about the men I wanted to meet and the type of relationship I wanted. I felt at ease with Michelle right away and it was refreshing for a match maker to be open and honest with me and not just tell me things that she may have thought I wanted to hear. She helped me to see past some walls that I had built up and helped to break down those barriers so that I could truly see what I needed. Sometimes it wasn’t easy to hear the things Michelle said but in the end I know it was right for me. I met my significant other about a year and half ago through Michelle and I couldn’t be happier and healthier in my relationship!! – vsahn
I have been a member of a women’s support group led by Michelle for almost two years. This group is sometimes the one thing I look forward to each week. Michelle leads the group with compassion, knowledge and experience. She ensures that all members participate and gives time for members to give thoughts and advice to each other. She is also very insightful in her ability to decide whether to simply actively listen to a member or to suggest some type of intervention, depending on the situation presented. She is very open-minded and non-judgemental and ensures that her office is always a “safe zone”. I highly recommend her services. – OneWhoKnows,
I’ve been in one of her ‘women in transition’ group sessions and I have had several individual sessions. As SugarBelle states (seemingly in response to screenname8358), a therapist is not someone who magically can change your life and convert sadness into happiness, a therapist can only guide you and show you the way to accomplish changes in your life. For me, she is doing a very good job at this. Sometimes I just need some guidance when I’m getting stuck in emotions and my brain keeps on analysing the same situation over and over again, without coming to a conclusion. She is able to show me the situation from a different perspective, and get a grip on my thoughts. For me this works really well. – memyself512
Michelle has been an excellent therapist from day one. She has made sure to show me and my father how to see the world in a bigger, brighter, manner. She never judges the decisions you decide to make and always helps you when you are in need. Her ears are always 100% open to what you say and how you are feeling. I have changed into a better person and I would never be at this place in my life without her. – pvanderwall
Michelle has been extremely supportive as i have gone through some challenging times over the last two years. i feel very safe in her group and also have benefitedvfrom the group dynamic of being able to accept and offer support to others. Michelle has excellent group facilitation skills. – dsc68
There is an interesting paradox that happens between a therapist and client because one may mistakenly assume that the therapist has been contracted to magically fix or have all the answers to one’s problems – when in effect the answers are found within ones’ self. It is through dialog, as well as effort, that the client puts forth to build a relationship with the therapist, who in turn provides introspection to guide client change – given the fact that an honest client is willing to work to make those sometimes difficult life or behavioral changes (which, ironically, initially often landed them in therapy!).
It has been my experience that Michelle has the professional qualifications to guide this type of therapeutic process in both group and individual settings. I have participated in three 6-8 week group therapy sessions as well as worked with her individually for approximately 2 years during some of the most trying times of my life. I can honestly say that if she was not there for me during these times, I don’t know if I would be here today.
Learning how to connect despite difficulties can be healing – as well as a possible requirement for clients in both group and individual therapy – otherwise a qualified therapist isn’t doing their job.
I highly recommend Michelle for those willing to face tough personal issues in an ever changing and complex world. She doesn’t have all the answers – but you can count on her to be there to help you find yours. – SugarBelle
Michelle runs a great therapy group for women. I loved this experience and the women I met through it. – GroupTherapyClient
