What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is an established allied healthcare profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to accomplish individualized goals. Music therapy sessions are hands-on and designed to meet the unique needs of individuals of all ages and abilities.
Evidenced-based music therapy interventions address goal areas including:
- Developmental growth
- Emotional needs
- Social/ behavioral needs
- Sensory needs
- Cognitive skills
- Communication skills
Who Can Benefit?
People of all ages and abilities can benefit from music therapy services. We currently specialize in seeing:
- Kids and adults with disabilities
- Children who are medically fragile
- Siblings of those with a disability or illness *It is important to note that it is not necessary to have any prior musical background to benefit
